What do you do?
Interskills develop multi-lingual communications tools for public services and businesses.
Their main product, the Life-Guide, is the UK’s only online resource dedicated to delivering tailored advice and support in any language - an essential tool for every statutory organisation, voluntary organisation and business that needs to communicate with non-native English speakers.
What stage is the company at?
Back in 2006 Interskills was based in the pre-start area at Sheffield Technology Parks, funded by Objective 1 - just man and desk for 6 months.
We now have an office at Sheffield Technology Parks and aim to employ 2-3 more staff in the next few months.
Why did you choose Sheffield Technology Parks as the location for your business?
The key reason for choosing Sheffield Technology Parks is the supportive environment they offer.
Networking is crucial to success, and it is valuable to have access to people who are able to help and offer advice. This includes both the STP support team and other occupants.
I have good relationships with the other suppliers in STP – we help each other out and give each other support.
Plus it’s a great location when clients visit from outside the city.
How have Sheffield Technology Parks helped you?
We have also received support from Sheffield Technology Parks’ core team of advisors.
Interskills is on the High Growth Start Up programme (HGSU), which has provided us with funding to develop the website and for general start up costs.
Thanks to Sheffield Technology Parks we are on course to meet our HGSU target of £250k turnover this year.
